The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering effective Mathematics lessons in accordance with the Singapore Mathematics and Cambridge curricula. The teacher will assess students’ understanding through class exercises, assignments, quizzes, and examinations, mark students’ work, maintain accurate academic records, and provide constructive feedback. They will use practical activities, visual aids, and real-life examples to simplify mathematical concepts, identify students who require additional support, and provide remedial lessons where necessary. The teacher will also maintain discipline, collaborate with colleagues and parents, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to the school’s academic development.

Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field. Previous teaching experience at the primary or junior high school level is an advantage. Candidates must have a good understanding of the Singapore Mathematics and Cambridge curricula and be capable of teaching Mathematics confidently from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Applicants must demonstrate strong English communication skills, professionalism, punctuality, and a genuine passion for teaching. Candidates must also be willing to work at Tema Community 11 and must reside in Tema or a nearby community.

The ideal candidate must have strong mathematical knowledge, excellent teaching and communication skills, and the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a simple and understandable way. They should demonstrate effective classroom management, lesson-planning, assessment, problem-solving, and analytical skills. The candidate must be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the different learning needs of students, prepare appropriate teaching materials, and use student-centred approaches to improve learning outcomes. Good teamwork, organisation, time management, patience, and familiarity with educational technology are also desirable.
