Supermarket Attendant

Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Arrange and restock products on shelves. Ensure shelves are clean, organized, and properly labeled. Check product expiry dates and remove damaged or expired items. Help customers locate products and answer their questions. Operate the cash register and process customer payments (if assigned). Keep the supermarket clean and tidy at all times. Receive and organize incoming stock. Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items to the supervisor. Follow company safety, hygiene, and customer service standards. Assist with opening and closing duties when required. Work with team members to ensure smooth daily supermarket operations.

Requirements: Minimum of a JHS, SHS, or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in retail or customer service is an advantage but not required. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Physically fit and able to stand for long hours. Honest, reliable, and trustworthy. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays if required. Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Good communication and listening skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to organize and stock shelves efficiently. Basic cash handling and POS (Point of Sale) operation skills. Time management and multitasking abilities. Problem-solving skills. Teamwork and cooperation. Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the store. Friendly, polite, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues.

Previous experience in a supermarket, retail shop, or customer service role is an advantage but not always required. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage). Good customer service and interpersonal skills. Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, lift, and arrange products. Honest, reliable, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic. Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and simple calculations. Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required.
