Vacancy for Commercial Driver

Vehicle Operation: Drive trucks over long distances or local routes to transport goods, products, and raw materials. ​Route Planning: Determine the most efficient travel routes by checking weather conditions, traffic patterns, weight limits, and road restrictions. ​Timely Delivery: Ensure cargo reaches its destination safely and strictly according to delivery schedules. ​Safety & Vehicle Maintenance ​Pre- & Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of brakes, tires, lights, steering, and fluid levels before and after every trip. ​Basic Repairs & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., checking tire pressure, topping off fluids) and report major mechanical defects to ​Shipping Papers: Verify and collect shipping documents, such as Bills of Lading (BOL), freight bills, delivery receipts, and customs documents. ​Incident Reporting: Report all accidents, traffic violations, delays, or property damage immediately to dispatch and local authorities.

Licensing & Documentation ​Valid DVLA Commercial Licence: A physical DVLA Ghana Licence Class C, D, or F in good standing. ​National Identification: Valid Ghana Card for identity verification and payroll setup. ​Defensive Driving Certification: Strongly preferred by logistics and industrial employers for fleet safety. ​2. Driving & Technical Experience ​Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of active, verifiable driving experience operating medium-to-heavy vehicles (e.g., rigid trucks, tippers, delivery vans, or buses). ​Transmission Competency: Practical skill in operating manual gearboxes (including 10- or 16-gear industrial transmissions where applicable). ​Route ​Physical Fitness: Good eyesight, sound physical stamina for long-distance travel, and capacity to assist with or oversee loading/unloading operations. ​Professional Conduct: Clean driving record with no severe accident history, strong time management skills, and flexibility for weekend or shift-based schedules.

Licensing & Legal Requirements ​Active Driver's Licence: A valid DVLA Ghana commercial driver’s licence starting from Class C up to Class D or F, held in good standing. ​Minimum Tenure: At least 2 years of holding the Class C licence before applying for roles requiring higher classes (D/F). ​National Identification: Valid Ghana Card. ​2. Education & Communication ​Minimum Academic Standard: Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or Senior High School Certificate (WASSCE/SSSCE). ​Language Proficiency: Functional command of spoken and written English to process delivery sheets, waybills, and logbooks. ​3. Practical & Technical Experience ​Verifiable Experience: 2 to 5 years of active commercial driving experience operating medium-to-heavy vehicles (e.g., rigid trucks, delivery vans, articulated trailers). ​Transmission & ​4.
