The Bell: The flared opening at the front end where the sound is projected. It features a traditional yellow brass finish, which provides a bright, well-balanced, and highly resonant tone. The Valve Block: The central engine of the instrument, consisting of three piston valves topped with mother-of-pearl style finger buttons. Pressing these down redirects the airflow through various tubing loops to alter the pitch. Adjustable Finger Rings: Includes a finger ring on the third valve slide and a thumb hook on the first valve slide. These allow the player to hold the instrument securely while making minute tuning adjustments on the fly during a performance.
