Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and prospect women-owned shops and SMEs that meet Fincon's eligibility criteria (female-owned, ≥6 months trading history, active MoMo wallet).
• Form and assist in assigning eligible group members guarantee groups, ensuring each member independently meets eligibility criteria.
• Capture KYC in the field via the agent mobile app: Ghana Card ID, business details, premises photo, MoMo wallet number, and group membership.
• Submit completed KYC packages to the Admin back-office portal for review and onward approval routing.
• Initiate mobile money collection requests against clients' registered wallets on scheduled repayment dates.
• Monitor assigned loans and groups, following up promptly on declined or unapproved repayment prompts.
• Deliver basic financial literacy guidance to clients as part of onboarding and ongoing relationship management.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of assigned clients and groups, and submit periodic portfolio

Skills & Competencies
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work confidently within local communities.
• Basic credit assessment and analytical skills — able to evaluate a shop's trading history and business viability.
• Comfortable using a mobile app for KYC capture, group formation, and collections in the field.
• Good local market knowledge within the Oyarifa/Pokuase catchment areas.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail, given this role's KYC data feeds directly into credit decisions.
• Good communication skills in English and at least one local Ghanaian language.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (minimum requirement).
• 1–3 years of experience in microfinance, credit/loan operations, or a client-facing field role is preferred.
• Willingness to travel within the Oyarifa and Pokuase operating zones for client visits and group formation.
• Ability to ride a motorbike is an advantage for this role.
• Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and mobile applications.

The Credit Officer is Fincon's field-facing Loan Agent role — responsible for identifying eligible women-owned shops, forming and verifying guarantee groups, capturing KYC, and managing an assigned loan/group portfolio through its full lifecycle from prospecting to collections. This role captures KYC and submits collection requests only, and does not approve or disburse loans, in line with Fincon's separation-of-duties policy.
