Mixologist

A Mixologist is responsible for creating, preparing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of beverage quality, presentation, and hygiene. Key Responsibilities Prepare and Serve Beverages Mix and serve cocktails, mocktails, wines, spirits, beers, and other beverages. Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Develop Beverage Menus Create innovative cocktail and mocktail recipes. Recommend seasonal and specialty drinks to enhance guest experience. Provide Excellent Customer Service Interact professionally and courteously with guests. Make beverage recommendations based on guest preferences. Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly. Maintain Bar Operations Set up and organize the bar before service. Keep the bar area clean, stocked, and well-presented. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly. Manage Inventory Monitor stock levels of beverages, garnishes, and bar supplies.

Minimum Requirements Minimum of WASSCE/SSSCE or equivalent qualification. Certificate or training in Bartending, Mixology, Hospitality Management, or a related field is an advantage. Previous experience as a Mixologist, Bartender, or Bar Attendant preferred. Knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktail preparation, and bar operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Must meet the legal age requirements for serving alcohol. Required Skills Technical Skills Advanced cocktail and mocktail preparation skills. Knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, liqueurs, and beverage pairings. Ability to create and innovate new drink recipes. Familiarity with bar equipment and beverage service techniques. Inventory management and stock control skills. Customer Service Skills Excellent customer service and guest relations skills. Ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner. Strong listening and communication skills.

Minimum of senior high school certificate (wassce/sssce) or equivalent qualification. Certification or training in mixology, bartending, hospitality management, food & beverage service, or a related field is an added advantage. At least 1–2 years of experience in bartending, mixology, or bar operations is preferred. Knowledge of cocktail preparation, beverage service, and responsible alcohol service practices. Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
