Firefly phototherapy unit is used to treat neonatal jaundice in newborn babies. Jaundice happens when a baby has too much bilirubin in the blood, causing yellow eyes and skin.
The machine produces special blue light that helps break down the bilirubin so the baby’s body can remove it naturally through urine and stool.
