Lie Down with Lions is a 1985 spy thriller novel by Ken Follett about a love triangle between a woman and two rival spies during the Cold War. The story follows Jane Lambert, an English interpreter in 1981 Paris who falls in love with both Ellis Thaler, an American writer, and Jean-Pierre Debout, a handsome young doctor. Jane marries Jean-Pierre and they travel to Afghanistan to work as doctors for the anti-Soviet rebels. However, Jane soon discovers that Jean-Pierre is actually an undercover KGB agent.
