Responsibilities
Greeting & Assisting: Welcoming customers as they enter and offering assistance in a friendly, approachable manner. Product Knowledge: Answering questions about products, explaining features, checking stock availability, and offering recommendations to help close a sale. Handling Inquiries: Managing customer questions or concerns politely, and escalating complex issues or complaints to a manager when necessary. Payment Processing: Handling various payment methods safely, thus cash and mobile money. Stocking Shelves: Keeping shelves, racks, and displays fully stocked, neatly arranged, and organized. Stock Rotation: Following practices like FIFO (First In, First Out)—putting newer stock at the back and moving older stock to the front—especially important for items with expiration dates. Receiving Inventory: Assisting with unloading new deliveries, checking quantities against invoices, and reporting any damaged goods. Pricing: Ensuring all items on display have clear and accurate pric

1. Key Professional Skills Basic Numeracy & Math: Ability to calculate change quickly, count inventory accurately, and handle basic cash transactions without errors. Strong Communication: Clear verbal skills to assist customers, answer questions politely, and communicate clearly with management. Customer Service Orientation: A naturally welcoming, patient, and helpful attitude, with the ability to stay calm under pressure or when handling difficult customers. 2. Personal Attributes & Reliability Honesty & Integrity: Because they directly handle cash, mobile money transactions, and high volumes of stock, high trustworthiness is a strict requirement. Punctuality & Reliability: Showing up on time for shifts to ensure the shop opens schedule-ready and runs smoothly. Attention to Detail: Ability to notice low stock, recognize when items are misplaced, and spot expired or damaged goods.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education: senior high school (shs) certificate, wassce, or higher qualification. Numeracy: strong basic math skills (ability to quickly and accurately calculate prices, count stock, and give correct change). Communication: fluent in english and local languages, with excellent verbal communication skills. Tech literacy: ability to operate a smartphone or tablet confidently (experience with point-of-sale (pos) systems or mobile money transactions is a major plus). Documentation: must possess a valid ghana card. Trustworthiness: ability to provide two verifiable character references or guarantors (e.G., a religious leader, community leader, or previous employer).
