Rolling dice: Players roll two dice to move around the board.
Buying and selling: Players can buy properties that are unowned, or pay rent to the owner of a property they land on.
Developing properties: Players can build houses and hotels on properties they own, which increases the rent they can collect.
Gaining and losing money: Players can gain money by passing "Go" and collecting rent from their opponents. They can lose money by landing on tax squares or drawing unfavorable cards from the Chance or Community Chest decks.
Going to jail: Players can end up in jail, where they can't move until they meet certain conditions.
