Responsibilities
Lesson delivery*: plan and teach all subjects for assigned class – english, mathematics, science, owop, rme, creative arts, history, physical education. - *literacy & numeracy*: use jolly phonics, nalap, and differentiated strategies to ensure all pupils can read, write, and calculate by basic 4. - *assessment*: conduct continuous assessment ca, school-based assessment sba, end-of-term exams, and prepare pupils for nst at basic 2, 4, and 6. Keep accurate records. - *classroom management*: create print-rich, engaging classroom. Implement positive discipline per ges guidelines. - *child development*: monitor pupils’ health, attendance, and social-emotional wellbeing. Identify learners with sen and use inclusive strategies. - *admin*: prepare lesson plans, scheme of work, tlms, and termly reports. Attend staff, pta, and spam meetings. - *pastoral care*: act as “class mother/father.” guide pupils on hygiene, morals, and citizenship. Liaise with parents on progress.
Requirements & Skills
Curriculum mastery*: deep knowledge of nacca standards-based curriculum for basic 1-6 and teacher resource packs. - *pedagogy*: learner-centered, activity-based, play-based learning for lower primary. Gesi and differentiated instruction. - *literacy methods*: jolly phonics, nalap, guided reading, writing. - *numeracy methods*: cpa approach – concrete, pictorial, abstract. Use of tlms like bottle tops, stones, abacus. - *ict*: basic ms word, powerpoint, and educational apps. Use of tablets if school has plp. - *assessment*: design formative assessment, checklists, and use nacca rubrics.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Diploma in basic education / bachelor of education / early childhood from college of education
Minimum Experience
1 year
Teach all core subjects to primary learners in line with the NaCCA Standards-Based Curriculum. Develop foundational literacy, numeracy, and life skills. Nurture social, emotional, and moral growth of pupils. Prepare learners for National Standardized Test NST and transition to JHS. Create a safe, inclusive, child-friendly classroom.
