Responsibilities
Lesson delivery*: plan and teach career technology using nacca ccp curriculum and teacher resource pack. - *strands covered*: 1. _materials_: wood, metal, plastics, textiles, food, building materials 2. _tools & equipment_: safe use, care, and maintenance of hand/power tools 3. _design & making_: design process, freehand/technical drawing, product development 4. _technology_: ict in design, simple electronics, emerging technologies 5. _entrepreneurial skills_: basic bookkeeping, marketing, business planning - *practical work*: organize 60% hands-on activities – projects, models, artifacts. Supervise workshop safety. - *assessment*: use project-based assessment, portfolio, practical tests, and end-of-term exams per nacca guidelines. - *admin*: prepare lesson plans, scheme of work, maintain tools inventory. Attend staff, departmental, and pta meetings.
Requirements & Skills
Technical skills - *subject mastery*: practical skills in at least 2 material areas – wood, metal, textiles, food, electronics. - *curriculum knowledge*: deep understanding of nacca ccp career technology, teacher manual, and assessment framework. - *technical drawing*: read and teach orthographic, isometric, and freehand sketching. - *ict*: use cad basics like tinkercad, ms office, internet research. Digital literacy for learners. - *workshop safety*: first aid basics, ppe use, hazard identification per ghana tvet standards.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Bachelor of education in technical/vocational education or with career tech elective.
Minimum Experience
1 year
Deliver the Career Technology subject under the NaCCA Common Core Programme for JHS. Equip learners with practical, technical, and entrepreneurial skills for the world of work. Develop competencies in design, tools, materials, and digital literacy. Prepare students for BECE and future TVET/SHS pathways.
