Activated Charcoal benefits
Activated charcoal is a highly porous form of carbon that can bind certain substances in the digestive tract.
Potential uses include:
Poisoning/overdose: Its main medically established use is under professional supervision for certain swallowed poisons or medications. It does not work for every toxin.
Gas and bloating: Sometimes used for intestinal gas, but evidence that it reliably reduces bloating is limited.
Diarrhea: It has been traditionally used, but there isn't strong evidence that it is an effective general treatment.
Digestive detox: Often marketed as a “detox,” but there is no good evidence that routine charcoal supplements detox the body.
Cholesterol: Some older studies suggest possible effects on cholesterol, but it isn't a preferred treatment for high cholesterol
