Poultry Farm Hand

Feed and provide clean drinking water to chickens according to the farm schedule. Collect, sort, count and safely store eggs. Clean and disinfect poultry houses, equipment and surrounding areas. Monitor birds for signs of sickness, injury, unusual behaviour or reduced egg production and report problems immediately. Assist with administering medications, vitamins and vaccinations as directed. Maintain cleanliness of feeders, drinkers, cages and other farm equipment. Assist with loading, unloading and handling poultry feed, eggs and farm supplies. Etc

Must be hardworking, honest, reliable and responsible. Must be physically fit and comfortable working around chickens and poultry waste. Ability to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays when required. Good observation skills and ability to notice changes in bird behaviour or health. Ability to follow instructions and maintain farm procedures.
