A CTG (cardiotocograph) machine is a medical device used during pregnancy and labor to monitor a baby's heartbeat and the mother's uterine contractions
How It Works
Two Sensors: Two flat pads called transducers are placed on the mother's belly and held in place with elastic belts.
Heart Rate Monitor: One transducer uses sound waves (ultrasound) to track the baby's heart rate.
Contraction Monitor: The second transducer measures the tightness of the womb to record when contractions happen.The Reading: The machine draws these details on a paper graph or a computer screen so doctors and nurses can read them.
