Responsibilities of a New Teacher 1. Plan and deliver effective lessons in accordance with the school curriculum and approved schemes of learning. 2. Manage the classroom and maintain discipline, order, and a safe learning environment. 3. Assess learners' performance through class exercises, assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations. 4. Mark and record learners' work and provide constructive feedback to improve academic performance. 5. Monitor learners' attendance, participation, behaviour, and progress. 6. Identify learners' strengths and learning difficulties and provide appropriate support. 7. Prepare teaching and learning materials to make lessons practical and engaging. 8. Integrate ICT and appropriate teaching resources into classroom instruction. 9. Maintain accurate academic and administrative records, including attendance and assessment records. 10. Participate in staff meetings, departmental activities, and professional development programmes.
