Seamstress

*Creating clothing designs based on trends, customer needs, or brand identity. *Sketching and developing new styles for dresses, shirts, trousers, African wear, etc. * Selecting fabrics, colors, patterns, and accessories suitable for each design. * Taking and interpreting body measurements to ensure proper fitting. * Creating or supervising patterns and garment construction. * Working closely with tailors and seamstresses to ensure designs are produced correctly. * Conducting fittings and making necessary adjustments. * Checking finished garments for quality, including stitching, finishing, sizing, and overall appearance. * Researching current fashion trends and developing fresh ideas. * Designing collections for different seasons, occasions, or customer groups. * Managing samples and prototypes before full production.

* Strong sewing and garment construction skills * Ability to cut fabric accurately from measurements * Ability to take correct body measurements * Experience using industrial sewing machines * Ability to sew neatly with clean finishing * Ability to make both simple and complex dress styles * Good knowledge of zippers, linings, sleeves, collars and hems * Ability to work with different fabrics, including African prints, crepe and satin * Ability to follow designs, samples and instructions accurately * Good attention to detail * Ability to meet production deadlines * Ability to alter and adjust garments for proper fitting * Good time management and ability to work with a team
