The concept of the emergency trolley was developed shortly after the start of the cardiac, pulmonary resuscitation procedure in the 1960s.6 The emergency trolley concept was initiated by a nurse in 1967 who had to run in all directions to take the tools and drugs needed when an emergency occurred.7 Emergency trolleys are currently used primarily for cardiac pulmonary resuscitation and other emergency conditions in all hospital units, not limited to the emergency department.
