How They Work
Capacitive Screens: Modern touchscreens use capacitive technology, which detects the electrical charge from your fingertip. A capacitive stylus mimics the electrical properties of a fingertip to create a touch.
Resistive Screens (Older Technology): Older, resistive screens required a physical force to create contact. Both resistive and capacitive styluses could be used on these screens, but capacitive ones are designed for current devices.
