Bryophyllum pinnatum commonly known as (TAAMEAWU) Miracle Leaf, air plant, cathedral bells, life plant and Goethe plant, In Nigeria, the Taameawu plant is known as “Abamoda” or “Odu has antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial, antifungal, antihistamine and anaphylactic properties. It is good for almost any ailments like high blood pressure, headaches, abscess, and swellings. Tea made from stem and leaves is used for menstrual cramps, asthma and helps with sinus issues as well as increasing energy levels. It is also consumed to clean the bladder and get rid of harmful toxins from the intestines.
It is called Miracle Leaf or Leaf of Life because it grows even without roots, sunshine or water. If you should cut Tameawu leaf into smaller pieces and cover them with soil, it will grow few days time. Surprisingly, it will still grow even if you put it inside a book.
