A borehole control box (also called a submersible pump control box, well pump control box, or borehole controller) is an above-ground electrical enclosure that serves as the "brain" of a borehole water pumping system. It manages the operation of a submersible pump installed deep underground in a borehole (a drilled well) to extract groundwater for household, irrigation, or industrial use.
In simple terms, without the control box, the submersible pump (which sits underwater) would lack proper electrical management, making it prone to damage or inefficient operation.
If your borehole system trips frequently or isn't starting, issues often stem from the control box (e.g., faulty capacitor, relay, or overload). Professional troubleshooting or replacement is recommended, as it involves electrical safety.
