Disco balls, also known as
mirror balls or glitter balls,
are spherical objects
covered with hundreds or
thousands of small
mirrored facets that reflect light in many
directions. The facets are usually similar
in size and shape, and are often made of
glass or plastic. When light hits the mir-
rors, it scatters and creates a complex
display. Disco balls are often set to ro-
tate, which adds to the effect by creat-
ing moving spots. A motor inside the ball
spins it around.
