It ensures that the film or imaging plate is properly positioned and stays light-tight so that the X-ray image is clear and accurate. Key Features Light-tight case: Prevents ordinary light from fogging the film or imaging plate. Front and back covers: The front is X-ray–transparent (low-attenuation material such as carbon fiber or aluminum), while the back often has a layer of lead foil to reduce backscatter. Pressure mechanism: Keeps the film or digital plate flat and in close contact with intensifying screens or imaging surfaces.
