. Unidirectional Transmission Limit
Standard HDMI to VGA converters function strictly in one direction: from an HDMI output device (source) to a VGA input display (sink). They cannot convert an analog VGA signal from an older PC into a digital HDMI signal for a modern monitor. Reversing the direction requires a completely different converter equipped with an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) chip and an active USB power source.
