Main responsibilities
🔧 Connect diagnostic scanners to the vehicle’s OBD2 diagnostic port.
💻 Scan the vehicle’s computer (ECU) for fault/error codes.
🔍 Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and determine what systems may be malfunctioning.
🚗 Diagnose problems involving the engine, transmission, ABS, airbags, electrical systems, sensors, and other modules.
📊 Check live data, such as engine temperature, RPM, fuel readings, oxygen-sensor readings, and sensor performance.
🛠 Recommend repairs or replacement parts based on the diagnostic findings.
🧹 Clear fault codes after repairs when appropriate and verify that the problem has been resolved.
📝 Record and explain diagnostic results to the vehicle owner or repair team.
