The car radiator tank (inlet and outlet tanks) holds and directs engine coolant as it flows into and out of the radiator core.
Main Functions of the Radiator Tanks
• Inlet Tank (Top or Side): Receives hot coolant directly from the engine via the upper radiator hose and distributes it evenly into the core tubes.
• Outlet Tank (Bottom or Opposite Side): Collects the cooled coolant after it passes through the metal fins of the Radiator (engine cooling) core and sends it back to the engine through the lower hose.
• Coolant Reservoir Connection: Houses or connects to the pressure cap and overflow/expansion lines to manage fluid volume changes and release or pull back coolant as the engine heats up and cools down.
• Structural Mount: Acts as the end-chambers (often made of durable reinforced plastic in modern cars)
