Key Functions of the Clutch Disc
• Torque Transmission: It grips the rotating engine flywheel (via the pressure plate's clamping force) so engine rotation passes directly into the gearbox and wheels.
• Power Disconnection: When you press the clutch pedal, the pressure lifts off, allowing the disc to spin independently. This breaks power flow so you can safely shift gears or stop without stalling.
