MAIN FUNCTIONS:
1. Supports the rotating shaft and wheels – It houses the shaft that connects the turbine wheel and compressor wheel.
2. Boosts engine power – By allowing the turbocharger to spin at very high speeds, it helps force more air into the engine for increased power and performance.
3. Contains bearings and lubrication passages – It provides smooth rotation and reduces friction through proper oil circulation.
4. Dissipates heat – The cartridge helps manage and transfer heat generated by the turbocharger during operation.
5. Maintains turbo efficiency – It keeps the turbine and compressor wheels properly aligned for maximum airflow and boost pressure.
WHY MUST BE REPLACED:
A faulty turbo cartridge can cause reduced power, excessive smoke, increased oil consumption, and eventually complete turbocharger failure.
