Car's pressure plate is a spring-loaded mechanical component bolted to the engine flywheel that applies clamping force to press the clutch disc tightly against the flywhee• Power Transmission: It clamps the clutch disc against the rotating flywheel, allowing engine torque to transfer through friction into the transmission input shaft.
• Disengagement: When you press the clutch pedal, the release bearing pushes on the internal springs (diaphragm or coil), lifting the plate away from the clutch disc to cut power flow from the engine.
• Smooth Gear Shifting: By temporarily disconnecting the engine from the gearbox, it lets you change gears safely without grinding or damaging the transmission
