FUNCTIONS
1. Supplies air to the suspension system – It pumps compressed air into the air springs (air bags).
2. Maintains the correct ride height – It raises or lowers the vehicle to the proper level.
3. Improves ride comfort – It helps absorb bumps and keeps the ride smooth.
4. Maintains vehicle stability – It keeps the vehicle level when carrying passengers or heavy loads.
Why must it be replaced?
WHEN IT...
1Fails to build enough air pressure.
2 Runs continuously or excessively.
3 Becomes noisy or overheats.
4 Causes the vehicle to sag or sit too low.
5 Triggers suspension warning lights.
6 Has worn internal components that can no longer operate reliably.
If a faulty compressor is not replaced, it can damage other suspension components such as the air springs, valve block, and air lines, leading to more expensive repairs.
