Function:* It clamps the clutch disc tightly to the flywheel so engine power goes to the gearbox.
- When you press clutch pedal, release bearing lifts the pressure plate to FREE the disc.
- When you release pedal,
If it’s weak, your clutch will slip — car revs but doesn't move fast.
2. Other pressure systems in your HR-V:
*a) Fuel Pressure System*
Keeps fuel at high pressure (3-6 bar) from pump to injectors. Without pressure, fuel won't spray.
*b) Oil Pressure System*
Oil pump pushes engine oil under pressure to all parts. No pressure = engine seizes in minutes.
*c) Cooling System Pressure*
Radiator cap holds ∼1.1 bar pressure to raise boiling point of coolant. Keeps engine from overheating.
*d) Brake Pressure System*
When you press brake pedal, master cylinder builds hydraulic pressure to push brake pads.
