Typical minimum requirements:
high school certificate / ssce / waec / neco
most companies ask for at least a completed secondary school education. You need basic reading, writing, and math to fill forms, handle money, and explain products.
No degree required
a college diploma or degree is rarely mandatory. Shs,o’level holders and train them on the job.
Basic literacy and numeracy
you must read product brochures, write receipts, calculate prices, discounts, and change. If you can’t do that, it’s hard to get hired.
Fluency in local language + english/pidgin
being able to speak the main language of the area you’re selling in is key. English helps with reports and company training.
What matters more than education:
training provided by company — most employers do 1-2 weeks of product and sales training after hiring.
Experience — if you’ve done any selling before, even in a shop or market, that can replace higher education.
