Flutes are the oldest extant musical instruments that have survived till present days in a form quite similar to the primary. Believe it or not, but the first flutes were found in Paleolithic sites and are dated between 35,000 and 45,000 years. Nowadays, flutes are represented by several different types, including nipple, side-blown, end-blown, even nose, and almost all of them can be easily found here on Jiji. During different historical periods, flutes were made of wood, bones, glass, silver, gold, platinum, and other (sometimes surprising) materials, depending on tendencies and general mood of the age. Funny enough, technically a flute is any open tube that produces sound when a person blows in it. But no matter what material or what shape is applied for a certain flute, each has unique sounding, high-pitched and clear. This musical instrument is more difficult to play than it may seem, for it requires more air than any other instrument.
